HPE 1950 10gbase-t only stacking

Hello everyone,

Apologies for the very basic question but haven't found an answer in the user manual or in other topics in this forum.

I am simply wondering if the 10gbase-t ports are supposed to be used for stacking only or if I can use them as normal ports as well (and thus connect to anything like a NAS or computer, in case my question wasn't stupid enough :) )

Many thanks to anyone willing to take the 30 seconds to answer this

JP

Thanks for your help

  1. Connect the PC to any port on the switch using a standard Ethernet LAN cable. Verify that there is a link between the switch and PC by checking the LEDs for the network port that are using.

  2. If the switch has access to a DHCP service, it automatically acquires an IP address. Determine the IPaddress of the switch by examining the client IP address table on user's router (See the router documentation for how to get this information), or talk to user's ISP representative to get the IP address of the switch.

If a DHCP service is not available in user's network, or for some reason the switch does not acquire an IP address from the service, the switch defaults to IP address 192.168.1.1 after 120 seconds of automatically attempting to acquire an IP address.

NOTE: Alternatively, if the user cannot determine the switch’s IP address, user can force it to use the192.168.1.1 address by first disconnecting the switch from any router or internet connection and then unplugging and reconnecting power to it.

V1910/JE009A: Using ACLs as a poor man's IP Source Guard

I want to set up a basic ACL or set of ACLs to
Permit source addresses in the range 10.0.28.1 to 10.0.31.254 to enter a port range.
Permit DHCP DISCOVER packets, that have the source address set to 0.0.0.0, to enter that same port range.
Deny all packets with other source addresses inbound access on that same port range.

Because most of the people looking after this network are very uncomfortable with CLIs, I really want to be able to do that in the Management Web GUI.

But I have so far been unable to do this in the GUI: In the CLI I seem to have gotten it to work with a single basic three-rule ACL and then that as a packet-filter on a port.

Help!

I think I know, now:
Setup basic acl's for the permit patterns
Same for the denial patterns
Set up classifier(s) using the permit acls, same for the deny acls.
Define a behaviour that has filter permit set, and one that has deny set.
Set up a QoS policy that uses the permit class and behaviour first, and then the deny ditto.
Finally associate this QoS policy with a set of ports, inbound.

Am I right?

Please advise on below inquiries,

1. Please state the difference between V1920-48G and V1920s-48G about their shape and the function

2. V1920-48G is no longer in production? Any stock left to pruchase?

Hi

  1. Look at HPE OfficeConnect 1920 Switch Series datasheet and compare with HPE OfficeConnect 1920S Switch Series datasheet.
  2. Stock? it depends on your preferred source of purchase...Local/Global Distributor? HPE/Aruba Partner? eBay? New/Refurbished/Used? too many variables.

This is my script to get CPU and Memory on web console. It's written by python language. So you must install it on your monitor server.

Please could you send me your email through a private message by clicking here . I will send file script to you.

Note:

My script use with 1820 model. I don't sure with 1920s, it can login web console with same url in script

Because the script use browser to get data, It's get more performance of your monitor server. If you have many switch 1920s, you will lost many RAM and CPU for it.
