can't configure Ethernet up-link from switch to switch
i have a new hpe 1920s switch, and i want the up-link to be from another hpe switch wich connected to my dhcp server, so i configured trunk on port 24 of my new switch and on port 48 of my old switch, and i configured the trunk port to be tagged for my all vlans which is 10, 100-108, 200, in both swirches.
and i configured the rest of the ports on my new switch on vlan 105, so the switch suppose to take the subnet 172.22.105.0.
but it's not working, anyone can help me?
Re: can't configure Ethernet up-link from switch to switch
Can you share here both (sanitized) Switches' running configurations?

Hello,
I'm using the switch belong and I'm running PD.02.06 firmware, which is the newest. Here is my switch config:

According to the documentation I have to enable the Administrative Mode.
First I tried it in the GUI: Enable it, clicking on save and then on apply. Each time, when I click on "apply" the ssh server and also the webserver get a timeout. The only way to restart the switch is to pull the power cable. After I'm online again and logged in, I notice, that the Administrative Mode is disabled. When I don't use "save config" and I just use "apply" it also freezes. That's the reason why I tried to configure the switch via SSH:
(HPE Routing) (Config)#show dot1x Administrative Mode............... Disabled VLAN Assignment Mode.............. Enabled Dynamic VLAN Creation Mode........ Enabled Monitor Mode...................... Enabled EAPOL Flood Mode.................. Disabled (HPE Routing) (Config)#dot1x ? dynamic-vlan Configure dot1x dynamic vlan creation parameters. eapolflood Enable/Disable EAPOL flood support on the switch. port-control Set the authentication mode on the specified port. system-auth-control Enable/Disable authentication support on the switch. user Add/Remove user from the list with access to the specified port.
I'm missing a way to enable the Administrative Mode with dot1x.
Can you give me an advise?
Thx

Hi!
Yes, sure.
1) Enable HTTPS

2) Disable HTTP

switch - startup-config deleted. How to insert into the machine
good afternoon
The configuration and backup files of my hp 1920-48G switch were deleted and the consequence of this action is that the device does not boot. I downloaded the files on the HP support website and they are saved to the pendrive. How do I copy them to the switch so that the device can boot normally
Re: switch - startup-config deleted. How to insert into the machine
You can factory reset the switch. it will boot up as new.
Below are steps for 2910al, i hope it works fine for you..
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c01983060
Re: switch - startup-config deleted. How to insert into the machine
This is what I can not do, because when I select 5 to restore from the factory default a message appears saying that the password recovery capability is enabled. That I have to disable the password recobery by the CLI command line. However, the switch does not perform BOOT because there is no configuration file to perform BOOT. The message "BOOT failed" appears, so I can not disable password protection and therefore can not restore the factory default

This morning we updated firmware to latest version (JG923A-CMW520-R1120) but problem persists.
Can somebody help me identifying what causes this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Andrea

Re: HP 1920s OID CPU Utilization and memory
In the end, I used the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.11.5.7.5.7.1.1.1.1.4.9.0 for the CPU. Although the data type is srting there, but with the help of a regular expression, I selected what I needed.
I didn’t find an OID for memory.
Re: HP 1950 (JG961A) secondary IP
It is VLAN 100.
I couldn't do it even from CLI.
But I finally found 2 workarounds:
- Backup & Restore trick:
- Download config backup
- Edit like this
interface Vlan-interface100
ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0 sub
ip address 192.168.92.1 255.255.255.0 - Upload backup
- DHCP Trick:
- Configure the VLAN with DHCP (instead of static IP)
- Go to Network -> IP and add an IP as secondary
Re: HPE 1920-16G Switch : link status is UP and DOWN
Thank Parnassus for your reply.
I think as well that something connected to port 1/0/9 is causing "confusion" to my Switch but I'd need help to dig more deep via software since it's a remote switch I cannot access directly so I cannot simply follow the wire to find guilty device :)
What makes you saying maybe Netgear? from those few log's line I don't see any big info. I was looking for a way to encrease log details from web interface but I cannot find it, maybe from CLI ?
Thanks,
Andrea

wrote: What makes you saying maybe Netgear? from those few log's line I don't see any big info.
I noticed the MAC Address 8c3b-ad22-acd0 reported on very first list (latest logged line you pasted):
"Oct 23 14:28:27:925 2018 LLDP Information LLDP_CREATE_NEIGHBOR New neighbor created on Port GigabitEthernet1/0/9 (IfIndex 18907136), Chassis ID is 8c3b-ad22-acd0, Port ID is g13"
I suspect somebody connected a Netgear device (probably a Switch since on the very same line there is a reference to g13 port which is - if I recall correctly - a typical Netgear Switch's nomenclature to designate 13rd Gigabit Ethernet Port) and this is causing some issue on your remote network.
Probably you will need to implement some Loop Protect/BPDU Detection feature to that problematic edge port (supposing you know that on that port it should be an host and not a managed/unmanaged Switch added by someone else).
Davide.
P.S. Sei italiano?

Re: HPE 1950 - WebUI Certificate
I also have the same problem that the WebGUI is using a self-signed certificate and I want to replace it with a trusted one.
The linked User Guide has no information on how to make the WebGUI use a particular certificate.
